I'm using Windows XP. When I try to backup files using a Western Digital external hard drive, I get a serious error message and the following error signature:

I'm able to backup JPEG files but not MS Office files.

During the backup procedure, a reboot automatically occurs with blue screen before the login.

This information would be most helpful to Western Digital themselves as they would most likely be able to debug the memory dump file, and they are the ones who have developed the software to do the backup.  Have you tried contacting Western Digital directly?

If you click on the English email link you can fill in information that will help out Western digital, I tried to go there, but they wanted specify information about the drive.
