In my report, I have a field that can have anyone of 3 different values. I want to do the following:

If this field has the value "A", I do not want to show this line on the subreport. I want to open a subreport showing different information.  If the field has one of the other values, I just want to show its line normally.

i would think you create a sub report in the detail section along with your regular detail

then you have 2 basically write 2 suppress formulas

1.) suppress the regular detail when the value is "A"
2.) suppress the sub report when the value is not "A"

you write the suppress formulat by right-clicking on the detail or sub report, formatting, and checking the suppress checkbox and clicking the suppress formula button
