Ive just installed visual studio for the first time, but when opened the program I got this window.

"License: Prelease software

Your license has expired

Check for an updated license"

Checking for an updated license does nothing, just fails. signing into a different, and even making a completely new account results in the same message.

Welcome to the MSDN forum.

Please go through the following steps to troubleshot this issue:

1. Go to control -> choose VS 2017 -> right-click change -> choose "repair". After the installation is repaired you should open VS with administrator privilege for testing.
2. Type "regedit.exe" in search box -> press Enter -> navigate to Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Licenses\5C505A59-E312-4B89-9508-E162F8150517 and delete it (Note: back it up before you delete it!) -> Execute a repair installation of VS 2017.
3. Open an CMD window with administrative and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE. Then run these commands: devenv.exe /resetuserdata.
