I'm trying to live stream from Expressions Encoder Pro 4 with SP1 running on a PC and pushing to a Live Smooth Streaming publishing point on a virtual private server, but at soon as I click the start button on the encoder I receive a "A network error has occurred" message.

I do not have any virus protection enabled on either machine and I have tried turning off the windows firewall, but nothing helped so far.

Have you tried preconnecting to the server in Encoder? That might give you some indication of the problem. What OS is the server you are pushing to and have you enabled IIS?
