We are using Project Server 2010 and we have some required project level custom fields all with defaults.  Since there are defaults we don't include the fields in the New Project PDP.  When we create a new project in PWA, the save works fine but when we go to Close and Check-in the project we get a error saying that the 5 of the 7 custom fields don't have values.  It is strange that 2 required CFs work as I expect but the other 5 don't.

Ensure the fields in question, do have a default (I am sure you have but just to be sure), and what is and is not required e.g. for consistency
