I can't seem to figure out the "Server Name Mappings" option in Search Server Express 2008.  I want to modify the search results to display the drive letter instead of the FQDN to the file server.  For example, right now the results show file://fileserver/public/filename.doc instead I want it to show file://S:/filename.doc , which is much more meaningful to our end users.  It's my understanding that I can accomplish this using the "Server Name Mappings" option in Search Server, but it doesn't seem to work.  I tried adding a new mapping that set "Address to index:" to file://fileserver/public and "Address in search results:" to file://s:/ , but when I click OK it says "The url is not valid".  It will accept the fields if I put asterisks at the end, like file://fileserver/public/*, but the search results don't appear to change.  I have tried recrawling after making the change and I've tried several variations of the file://s:/ url, but no luck so far.  Has anyone got this to work?

I tried to map z: on the search server end, thinking that might be required, but no effect.

 

Also, is there a way to get it to open that folder in explorer?
