I've inherited a project where I'm responsible for changing an access database that has been split and restricted.  I'm needing to change a few of the reports and possibly a few forms.  The original developer is long gone and being new to access I'm struggling to get this accomplished.  I noticed by searching that you can create a new blank database and import from an existing database, in this case the accde database.  It looks like it was working but the forms, reports, and macros are grayed out and didn't not come across.  Is there anyway to either modify a database that has been restricted or start fresh with a new database that has all the objects from the accde.  I need urgent help, been up all night trying to solve this issue.

By definition/design, a database compiled to a ACCDE will not allow any design changes to forms, reports, or code. The only way to modify them is to revert the ACCDE objects back to their previous ACCDB state. There is a paid service available to do this, if you're interested. Otherwise, you'll have to start from scratch without the benefit of using any of the "compiled" objects as a starting point.
