I have no luck with this almost useless express editions. I mean damn, could this guys in redmond do it just once right? On the Visual Studio 2008 express page, there is clearly visible and highly praised, that VC++ 2008 Express DOES support 64 bit targets. Unfortunately, you can't pick anything but Win32 platforms, and the MSDN 2008 Express links to "How to install x64 compiler" are DEAD! I mean, how can you in almost 2008 miss the x64 support with 1GB download? What do we get? A lot of management propaganda *** instead of a compiler for x86 AND x64?! This should happen automatialy, without any "platform SDKs".

I hope microsoft will do an update. I mean, if you have to download 1GB it does not matter if you would need to download additional 100MB for the x64 compiler. So size can not be an argument, that the compiler was not included. If you burn a DVD you allways loose 4,2GB no matter if the VS 2008 takes only 1GB.

Microsoft let you use their product without you paying anything to get it...
Though it has a lot of limitations, it's still too much..
Instead of whining, just be thankful you've had the priviledge to use that product without paying anything
