We are a software developer who uses Office products integral to our architecture in conjunction with a SQL database.  Ever since the (KB4041676) release we have experienced an error where when we try to generate an .xls through our software we are encountering an error that the file is password protected.  If I remove the update, the problem goes away.  I'm kind of at a loss as to how to program around this.  Any suggestions?

Hi Brad,

How do you connect the SQL Database? What's your connecting string?

According to other developers' feedback, it seems that there is some issue with  Microsoft JET Database Engine driver due to this update.

If you are using Jet driver, I would suggest you change another driver, such as ACE OLEDB driver, for connecting to a SQL database.
