Hi,

I try to connect the Kinect V2 to my I7 clevo laptop.  It keeps showing the error message "Device not recognized".

From what I've read on the forum my Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host controller - Intel 7/C216 is not supported.

Is there a workaround ?

Where did you see Intel USB3 chipsets are not supported? The only chipsets we support are Intel and Renesas. You can launch the Kinect Configuration Verifier tool from the August Public Preview to see what issues it can provide.

Is the host controller shared with other devices? Launch device manager, select WDF KinectSensor entry.

From the view menu, select "Devices by connection" you should see something similar to:

Depending on how your system hardware is designed by the IHV/OEM manufacturer, the PCIx bus the chipset is connected to does not support PCIx Gen 2.0(5.0Gb/sec) speeds. If that is the case you will need to purchase a PCIx V2.0 USB3 card with the appropriate chipset. see troubleshooting guide:
