We updated to 2017.1 version and we have started to use the new discussion area where you can mention a person in the comment. How I set an Email alert that will be sent to the user I mentioned in the discussion area?

Hi Betty,

Actually, upon completion of your selection and text entry, your @mention user will receive an email alerting them about the mention. You don’t need to apply a new alert anymore.

配置SMTP服务器，供团队成员接收通知。

Please note that: For on-premises TFS, you must configure an SMTP sever for team members to receive notifications.
