Hi, I'm using Access 2016 and am trying to set up a simple data macro on a table's After Insert event. What I originally wanted to do was copy the value of one particular field and place it in another table. But because that didn't work I decided to try something even simpler so attempted to copy the value to a new field in the same table but still had no joy. I've tried to the letter 5 different examples of data macros from various texts and online and not one has worked. I've attempted these examples in new tables and new databases and none work. I started to wonder if somehow Macros were disabled so I created a stand alone macro that just displays a message box when run which it did successfully, so I know that macros will work, but it appears just not data macros. So to keep things really simple for the sake of example, when I insert a value into Field1, I want Field2 to have a value of 30. Below is my attempt, which surprise surprise didn't work. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong. Ta
