I would please like some advise on my situation:

I have a personal mvc asp.net website with an sql server database and would like to show it to friends and family meaning host publicly. This site will have very low traffic and I am unsure on how to go about hosting it. If possible I would shut it down when not in use.

I could use Azure, however being a student I would prefer not having to pay but happy to try any other recommended hosting companies.

At home I have a raspberry PI which I could use as a server to host but not sure if this is recommended and/or 'safe'. Also if I did this I would prefer to have a domain name so i'd use something like https://www.dnsdynamic.org/.
