I was wondering, is there any way to integrate ado data services with windows workflow?  For example if I want a workflow to call out to my http://localhost:7777/PersonDataServices/Persons to get a list of persons to approve, I would ideally like to use a InvokeWebService activity, specifying the uri.  When I use the web service reference wizard to do this, it complains it doesn't like the the service proxy for 'Persons'.

 

Any ideas on if there any nice way to use ado data services in WWF?  Or should I post this in the WF forums...

Hi,

It sounds like you are using .NET Framework 3.5 workflows (since you mention the InvokeWebServiceActivity). Have to tried the Send activity and Add Service Reference (not web service reference).

If these don't work (and we should be able to get it working) then you could create a custom activity to do this, and call it just like you would from regular .net code.

Let me know what version of WF you are using and I'll see if I can get a small example going for you.
