I want the image to be dynamically loaded outside of the xap so I don't increase the xap size.

 

Hey when I add an image to a folder in my project in blend it automatically converts it to a resource type. I Had visual studio up at the same time so thats how I noticed.

 

However changing from resource back to "none" in visual studio means it no longer appears on my page when I run the silverlight app with the image linked to an image control. Is there an easy way to do this?

As long as you can get the image to be served by whatever web server is serving the xap then yes. The image control can load images by URI.
