This is not quit clear. Do you have 2 ADFS instances? Or just 1 FARM and is the second part of the sentence refering to the ADFS from the first part of the sentence?

Considering you have just 1 instance, yes it is possible by using a loadbalancer and configure it to loadbalance the way desired. And nope, the client doesn't cache which of the 4 servers is used from the FARM setup.

However it does cache the value you enter in the HomeRealmDiscovery.aspx. You can disable that in the adfs web.config(    <persistIdentityProviderInformation enabled="true" lifetimeInDays="30" /> ). If you set that to false the browser doesnt cache it.
