In our SharePoint online site users are facing slowness issue, generally when they leave a site idle for 5-10 min and then navigate it or refresh, it  takes around 5-10 mins to load the site. Can anyone suggest what could be the issue, as per my understanding this is something related to session.

Have you added any JavaScript to the pages? This sounds like a JavaScript issue.

No reason why the sessions will slow you down.
