Hi all,

I am trying to implement a server service that automatically starts publishing live stream from an input device. When using expression encoder Gui, I can list the device and configure the capture format (I assume using a DirectShow property page). However, I did not find how to do this programatically using the API. Is there a way to configure device output format ? ot any other way to get the DirectShow device object  ?

I need to select the appropriate format in order to "Lock" the device on the input signal, otherwise the card returns black frames.

I'm afraid we don't expose a means by which you can programatically configure the live source via the Expression Encoder API.  To do so, Microsoft would have to impose standards on the hardware manufacturers relating to their configuration interface. Not optimal to say the least.
