When I open up of my solutions, VS2010 always attempts to convert one project. I go through the wizard and select NO on the backup options. VS2010 will then show my project. But then if I diff the project file, nothing has changed. Thus the next time I restart VS2010 it goes through the same process trying to convert that same project. Does anybody have any idea what triggers the wizard? What can I check, if there are no file differences in the projects after the wizard runs?

When your project or solution is created by previous version of Visual studio, the conversion wizard will be triggered.

At least the project(*.csproj and *.vbproj) file should be converted.

 

There is a setting in Conversion wizard, in Conversion Complete dialog, you will find a checkbox named show the conversion log when the wizard is closed. Please check it, and click close.

 

Then the conversion report will display the conversion report, and it will show you what file have been changed.
