we need to send Appointments/Meetings via Outlook to several receipients. We get the html template to use from a web service and that template includes some images. However the AppointmetItem/MeetingItem is not able to send html bodies. So I have found a great tool that converts html to rtf. The result is a string which contains the images as embedded "{\pict\...}" elements. The string then will be converted to a byte array so that it can be added to the RTFBody element.

So far so good, at the Appointment (shows in the senders calendar) everything looks great. But the meeting (send to the receipients) will lost all the pictures! I have also got the rtf string from the tool, put in notepad++ and saved it as .rtf file. I was able to open it in word and it looks good.

You can use the Word object model for dealing with item bodies, so you can paste the HTML markup. See Chapter 17: Working with Item Bodies for more information.
