I need to limit to 3 items per user the possibility to edit from the quick edit mode option (when pressing "edit this list" that is next to the new item option), any ideas on how to achieve that are welcome. Probably going to be a lot easier if you don't allow them to edit in quick edit and instead force it through forms. If you force through forms, you could run a script to see recently modified items filtered by the logged in user and disallow saving if that is > 3.
