I thought I had heard that Denali would support a new table-level compression (across pages), but I don't see anything about it.  We get about 50% reduction with page-level compression in SQL 2008, reducing a terabyte to 500gb, but I would expect a more winzip-level ratio of 80-90% with table-level.

It's sad, but columnstore index is a secondary index, which only add more data to your data set instead of reducing it. The purpose for the index is to speed up your queries like all other indexes do.
