Can someone tell me a good tutorial on how to use git with visual studio (C#)

I tried to follow this seemingly excellent tutorial

(sorry no links allowed)

but couldnt do even the most basic thing. When I create a new project with "Add to source control" first it does not ask me if I want git as in the video

second it says

    
We were unable to automatically populate your Visual Studio Team Services accounts.

The following error was encountered: TF400813: Resource not available for anonymous access. Client authentication required.



third , it is supposed that any change you do in your code you can commit it right? (as they do in the video)

well it does not work. I can make a million changes and the button for "commit" is always non active...
