Ok, this ugly, and worst than it was in EW1 and EW2. I'm working on a site, from one computer and one computer only, using EW3. I've published 22 files to the root. Looking at the publishing window: left pane (local) status is unchanged and right pane (remote) is unchanged. Three days later I open EW3 and proceed to open the remote to add ONE new file and WWWOOOOOO! Every file on the remote has a status of Changed. I click refresh....no change. I refresh the local....no change. I reboot......no change. The remote files, everyone of them, has the exact date/time stamp as the local and exact same size.

So I move over to filezilla and download all the files to local temp directory. Using UltraCompare I find that every file is exact to the ones on the local.

Whats up with that? Granted it wasn't the greatest in EW1/2, but they never did this (every file). I use to only get this on files that are changed on the website (asp, txt, etc.).

Now, in the older versions there was an option to determine changes based on date/time or compare the source file to the destination. I'm not finding this option in EW3. What happened to it?

To answer your second question first, that option was pulled because it was even less accurate than the other method and because, when we queried users, we found that few people used it or even understood the difference between the two options.  The only advantage the other option had was that it was slightly faster.

Please file your first issue as a bug in the Connect forum, so that we can look at this to see if we can reproduce the bug and fix it.  We're spending some time in this area for the planned service pack since we know we still have some problems there.

In the meantime, if Steve has an updated version of FPCleaner out there, running that, then republishing the site, should take care of your problem.
