I have used MS Access a lot and any other package I think learning to use I compare it with how good Access was/is.
so, I look for the GUI and how rapid I was able to but one up in Access forms, how easy it was to link the main for to a child form, how the table relationships was so easy to build visually, how I was able to use a very friendly GUI to build an event which did exactly what I had in mind,...etc

now that I want to scale up, web and multi user access and authentication and all. I face the challenge to first find a package(s) that will be as nice as I experienced with Access and does what I have in mind intuitively. "and does not cost the earth".

so far what I found is MySql workbench which I must pay a lot for one year lic. MSSQL equally pricey. that is just to handle the database part of what Access gave me already included in its package. 
oh, but what about the other things that Access gave me, what other packges will do that?, so I am left woundering, what package(s), how much will EACH cost, how on earth will I link them together, .... blah blah blah.

I am left to conclude that Access spoiled me and left me naked when it comes to the real world of rapid development of dynamic data web application.

is there a remedy?
