Hi,

We have a SharePoint 2013 site collection and we have noticed that on certain libraries we are seeing a behavior where the documents are automatically checked out when they are drag and dropped onto the document library. This does not happen if the document upload is executed from the Ribbon menu. I checked if the "Required to check out" option is enabled on the document library or if there are any required columns exist on the site. There are no required columns.

How can this happen? Is there a site level feature that is triggering this? Please help.

Are there multiple content types or a custom content type?  That will also cause the Checked out with no checked in version when using drag and drop.

Do the files show up in the 'Manage files which have no Checked in version' report available in library settings?
