Hello everyone,

I have a problem in making Windows Explorer to open a folder in the same window. It did't had a problem before an unfortunate crash of my laptop. The crash probably happened due to overheating because the fan probably stopped but now it is working. Anyways, after that I cannot open a folder in the same window it pops a new window for any folder. I have Vista Home Premium SP1. Only when I right-click and choose explicitly 'Explore' it opens a folder in the same window or if I use the explorer Folder pane on the left side.

This happens although I have checked that the correct option 'open folder in the same window' is checked at the 'Tools->Folder Options...' . I don't know what to do and this problem slows down my work PLEASE can someone help me????

I have tried a proposed solution wich I read here: http://www.vistax64.com/vista-general/44439-open-each-folder-its-own-window-bug.html#post703257 and it says:

"Hi, I have the same problem and resolve following these steps:

- copy the values data of
COMPUTER\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\open\command : (Default) and
DelegateExecute to

COMPUTER\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\explore\command respectively
but delete the word /separate from de default value and, in case,
DelegateExecute does not exists create and paste the value of
DelegateExecute from the Open Key.


At the end, You will have the following value in the key
COMPUTER\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\explore\command :

(Default) -> "%SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /idlist,%I,%L" .

DelegateExecute -> value of
"COMPUTER\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\explore\command\DelegateExecute"

After that, the parameter works ok, means, if you select open each
folder in the same window or open in its own windows, works as should
be.

BUT it didn't work for me :(. Does anyone know a secure solution? SOS SOS! Maybe I did't do something correctly with the above proposed solution I dod't know I think I
did exactly what it says! SOS
