It is frustrating to use the Interactive window in VS2017 for Python. The Up arrow instantly replaces the entire set of lines with the previous command. There is no way to auto complete a previous set of lines (similar to the alt+P functionality in IDLE). The Escape key deletes everything I have typed, when all I want is the displayed hint to go away.
