Hi people! I've been doing some research on this and I could use some pointer to how to accomplish this. I'm trying to create a control that contains a tickbar of a timeline grid.
I'm trying to create some sort of a sound recording application that allows me to record tracks and have them get stacked together downwards. You've probably seen this before in other sound recording applications such as Adobe Audition etc. I've already baught some external controls to do this, only it's based on winforms. I'll try to mash up these problems later though since I'm using WPF now and not winforms. Anyway, I want something similar to this:

This is a screenshot I found of an ElectricRain application which is based on WPF. So I know it's possible. But how would I do something like this? I want to be able to snap along these grids based on the TickBar above. Also, when the mouse is hovering over the TickBar, I want the cursor to become a long thin line that goes all the way downwards, just like in Expression Blend when creating different grids in a Grid control. Any pointers AT ALL would help me along the way! :)

This thread may have to get moved to Windows Presentation Foundation forums instead of Expression Blend since this problem may be more in that line.
