Note that I am not recording a windows store app.

I googled it a bit but I do not get the windows store node under C# on my machine. Am i missing something here?

Please use the Coded UI test for Universal Windows:

And the coded ui test(Universal Windows) does not support recording actions, we could only use the coded ui test builder to capture the control of window store app and hand coding the test script.
