I installed VS 2017 on my E drive (an hd), since my C is an ssd. Now I have enough space to host VS on C, and I want to have it there to boost loading speed. Using the installer->modify the location appears greyed out... how can I change it?

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

Although you installed the VS on drive E, there are still many shared components which will be installed into shared repositories on drive C:without any possibility to change their path.

To changing the original path, I would suggest you not move it directly, but download the latest web installer from Downloads page, choosing the location on C drive, it will also keep VS settings, installed packages, solution history.
