Working in SharePoint 2013 Online, I created a Library (using Classic experience) and loaded a custom Template "ExcelTemp.xltm" into the library's Forms folder. I went into the Library Settings --> Advanced Settings and set the Document Template field to point to my template. (If I click Edit Template it opens the template.)

When I go to the library and click the (+)NEW link and click on New Document. I get a blank excel document.

THIS WORKED WHEN I ORIGINALLY SET THIS UP (in another library).
Working in the original library, when I updated the template and changed the filename it quit working. I changed the template to an .xlsx document and it worked. When I changed it to something else it didn't work any longer. I tried changing it back to the
.xlsx document and it didn't work again.

This only happens on one of my PCs.
