I wish to create manifest file in 'Release' folder; it must be updated on the basis of build or re-build...etc. And right now my test application contains only ".exe" and ".pdb" files in the 'Release' folder. I am using visual studio 2012 with Visual C++. Attached the screenshot of project properties:

You could change the Manifest Tool's "Embed Manifest" option to "No".  This would create a manifest file in the location you specify in the "Output Manifest File" property.  I don't have VC++ 2012, but in VC++2015 that method will create a manifest file but the manifest will not be automatically linked into the executable as a resource.
