Hi,

When I import a psd file into EM I get no thumbnail and only "rendering disabled 24" in red when I go media view.   I have searched forum and have found others with problem but no solution.   Does anyone have any ideas.  I have EM version 1.0.8103.0 and am using a Mac with OS 10.5.6.   Would going to EM 2 help?  If not I am thinking of heading to Lightroom for Cataloging - but I do like EM.   Any help much appreciated.

I would like to add a correction here - some psd files are rendered OK - but some are not - curiously they are often ones that have been created in PS using smart objects - but they are flattened and saved as psd.  If I save it as a Tiff it renders OK.

Hi CT,

Is there any chance that you have saved the files without maximum compatibility turned on in Photoshop? I believe that's the error you would recieve in Expression Media if max compatibility is turned off. Try this:

Open one of the problem PSDs in Photoshop.
Under Edit Preferences, file handling, File compatibility, change Maximize PSD file compatibility to Always.
Resave the file.

In Expression Media, highlight the file and go to Action --> Rebuild item.

Will it render now?
