Somehow the cardSpace UI does not popup when I press the InformationCard control.
This is the first time I run into this behavior and I have no clue what causes it; it seems like a direct post is done without first showing the CardSpace dialog.
The site that contains the InformationCard control runs under HTTPS without problems.

Can anyone please help me out? I am running into a deadline and before deployment this worked fine.

You might want to take a look at the event log after you hit the card control when it fails. The event log might say that the cardspace is too busy to process your request. In such case, open the task manager, find icardagt.exe from the Processes tab and kill it. Then try again. That should solve the problem.
