I am working on a webtest performance testing and couldn't distinguish between purpose of data binding and context parameter. both provide solution to same purpose, why do we need two separate parameters?

In a data driven test values are gathered from the data source (CVS, XLS, XML, etc) and saved as name-value pairs in the context, ie as the values of context parameters (CPs). Some places in the web test editor offer a "bind" command in their context (right click) menu, this is just a quick way of accessing the names of context parameters that the web test editor knows about.
