This is my first phone app project. Having successfully published a tablet app to the Store I want to migrate this to Windows Phone.

Using a very simple app when I try to run using the emulator I get the following deployment errors:

1>Error : DEP6100 : The following unexpected error occurred during boostrapping stage 'Connecting to the device':

1>Exception - 0x80131500

Where do I start to try to remedy this? Any help, as always, gratefully received.

Have you installed the tools in a VM? If you are using VS 2012 ,  have you tried installing update 4 and still see the problem?

Below thread has some suggestions if you are using VM. However, installing Emulator in VM is not a supported scenario.
