A client has several Word 2003 templates (.dot) that has numerous drop-down lists that are embedded in theie existing templates.

The client would like to have some method of extracting all of the text in all of these lists within the template without having to labor through each template and manually copying/documenting the text of each item in each list to paper.

I have contacted MS Support and they said that there is no built-in features in Word to accomplish this and suggested that i post the question in this forum.

Is there such a way to accomplish this outside the normal use of Word?

Hi Sean

Could you please be more specific about what kind of dropdown lists these are? It would be enough if you could tell us which toolbar button was used to insert them, or what steps were used to add the items to the lists.

Word has a different kinds of lists (I can think of at least three, off-hand) so we need to know which kind before we can suggest code to extract the information :-)
