If you right-click the speaker icon in the notification area (AKA system tray)
... and click "Playback Devices"
... and double-click "Speakers"
... and in the "Controller Information" section, click "Properties"
... and switch to the "Details" tab
... and choose the "Hardware Ids" property
... does the PnP ID look like "HDAUDIO\...VEN_10EC"?  If so it's a Realtek HD Audio card.
