I have created a new content type which I inherited from the built in content type named Article Page. I am using this on a publishing site in the pages library. I can create and view pages based on this new content type successfully.

My problem is that I cannot search for any of these pages based on this new content type. They simply do not show up in search results. If I create a page based on the built in Article Page content type in the same site in the same library, they show up perfectly in search results.

where 0x0110001105041E0BD44E9D99D719715D5FF900 is id of custom content type. Note that when you provision custom content type to doclib with some ID Sharepoint creates internal CT which inherits yours. This inherited content type has additional guid at the end comparing with CT id which you specified during provisioning. That's why you need to use pattern matching ContentTypeId:{ctId}* instead of equality operator ContentTypeId={ctId}.
