Hello all. I wanted to try and synchronize an app (or rather its content) between two phones. 

I was hoping to set up a kind of subscription service where, temporarily, the app running on both phones would be on the same page, when one user makes a change (say darkens an image) the actions are sent to the other user. Is there a general API for doing something like this? I was thinking of just sending a byte of coded info but I'm not sure what I'd need.

That's the core of the question, what would I need, in addition to more knowledge, to accomplish this? Do I need to go as far as Azure? or is there some simple protocol I can use for ad-hoc connections for two windows phones or can I just somehow send it directly through the network ala p2p? If so for any of these, any direction on how to do this? Any positive aid or info would be greatly appreciated.
