Only on one particular solution (or maybe just one of the projects of it) whenever I build it, VS 2015 hangs after the build completes. Whether it builds successfully or not makes no difference. It sucks when there's an error though because after it builds and fails, it takes sometimes around 5 minutes before the IDE because responsive again so I have to go get some coffee or something before I can fix the problem. On successful builds, it writes the EXE and everything long before the hanging. I have turned on maximum verbosity in the build settings, and after it completes and give me the successful, there is no additional information that tells me what it was doing for the next 5 minutes of hanging.

What can I do to find out what's going on? I've tried launching the ide through devenv /log and looked at the ActivityLog.xml but I see nothing in there that seems abnormal.

Any suggestions?

Because you met the issue only on particular solution, it’s hard to say the issue is related to visual studio. You could open computer management to check if there is any log about visual studio.

Besides, trying to change the Maximum number of parallel project builds from 4 to 1 under Tools/Options/Projects and Solutions/Build and Run and disable any anti-virus on your pc.
