Hi I'm trying to follow a tutorial and notice when the teacher puts a cursor in the parenthesis he's able tp use the down arrow key to scroll through different versions of WriteLine, whilst when I attempt to do the same thing my cursor just clicks down the Visual Studio page. I'm wondering why.

Likely you are referring to the shortcut of main menu:

Edit > Intellisense > Parameter Info

I don't think the teacher shows the parameter info just pressing the down arrow. I think he presses the keyboard shortcut for Parameter Info, and THEN he presses the down arrow to iterate overloaded versions of WriteLine.

You can customize the shortcut for Parameter Info in Tools > Options window, Environment > Keyboard node, type the command containing Edit.ParameterInfo and change or assign the shortcut.
