I am using openXML sdk 2.0 for creating word report in server side and able to create docx file. But I want to convert that docx file in .doc format ( for lower version support) without using office automation. Is it possible? I think the short answer is no you cannot do that. Obviously you can use office automation or you could use a 3rd party library, the Aspose one comes to mind (http://www.aspose.com), but it is expensive. You could of course convert the file formats yourself but that would take forever...
