When Windows Phone 8 discovers an NFC tag, it only tries to act upon the first record. If it does not recognize the record, or has no application to deal with it, it stops. There is no message to the user indicating what is going on even. The phone shakes and does its NFC tone, but then stops.

We are trying to develop a cross platform dynamic NFC tag for the public's consumption, called the DTAG100 (www.dtag100.com). We need for our applications on each of the mobile platforms to be able to read data on a separate NDEF records contained in an NDEF message. Windows Phone 8 is falling short in this regard, because it unnecessarily forces the first tag to be Windows Phone 8 specific.
