I have two document sets linked to a document library. Say - DocumentSet1 and DocumentSet2.

Each of these document set have their own set of document content types configured. Say
DocumentSet1

- DocumentCT2
DocumentSet2
DocumentSet2
- DocumentCT3

Now when I create case with "DocumentSet1" and tries to upload document in it - in new button menu i see correct options i.e. DocumentCT1 and DocumentCT2.

There is need from end user to change content type of same case - so when user changes content type of document set to "DocumentSet2" Then it was expected to show/appear the other list of document CT in new button menu. But its not. Its still showing doc CT from old document set.

Have anyone faced this issue? Does anyone knows how to get it fixed?

We tried to check programmatically using C# and PowerShell as well - to check allowed content types of this item - there it shows updated document CT names but in UI its still shows old. No matter how many time we update the case.

This works well when you move case from one site to another and change the document set CT - because there you are actually creating new doc set.

The content types used (and available from the New Document button) in a document set is controlled from within the specific document set settings. This has to be set up before creating the actual document set.
Go to the library setting and select the document set content type that you want to modify, click on Document Set Settings and in the first section, Allowed Content Type add the content types that you would like to be available from the New Document button. Click OK.

And as i mentioned before, this has to be done before creating a document set, as the content types/new item button won't update in the sets that are created before this change.
