I was having trouble designing the main page of my app.  In particular I'm stuck deciding between different views to show the user when they launch the app.  Is it convention for all apps to go to the same page each time the user taps the live tile?  Would it be acceptable for the user to be taken to a different view depending on what information is displayed in the live tile (example notification present, vs no notification)

Should I just have one main page, that may or may not show the relevant information and then have the option for the user to switch between views

For example say it was something like geocaching.  Should it be the responsibility of the user to switch between the view of the map and the list of geocaches? Or is it better to combine the two on the same page like in the Nokia transit app (the page where you view the map and subway stops for instance)

Thinking from the perspective of a consumer, I would be inclined to keep a single, familiar, consistent page layout (perhaps with UI variations embedded within).  This is to minimize confusing the customer who would be trying to figure out what app is currently running.
