I was putting in some translations in Visual Studios Ultimate 2013 on a element and now my keyboard is not typing the correct characters. I have tried restarting and shutting down everything, but now I cannot get the \ to work to log into the environment.

Do you mean that your VS couldn't run smoothly or the Keyboard "\" doesn't work?

You could try to restart Windows and in  safemode, run devenv /safemode in Visual Studio 2013 Command Prompt.
