I think there were an old thread talking about MSMQ vs SQL Service Broker, is the argument still valid? It seems that few projects use Service Broker, or are there new technologies that can replace MSMQ?

Service Broker is something different all together.  MSMQ is a queuing system that can be used by any application that calls its methods (SQL is not required).  I don't believe MSMQ is going anywhere anytime soon, as WCF uses MSMQ as one of its transports.
