so I started getting errors and stuff when opening files or even just closing visual studio.  I googled the issue and decided to uninstall vs and reinstall it.  I've done that multiple times and everytime I install vs I get multiple packages that failed to install correctly.  I am using windoes 10 64-bit if that matters and am using the free version of visual studo, community I think its called.

How did you install VS community2015? If you used the ISO file, I recommend you verify the integrity of the ISO file. If you used the web installer, please have a try with the ISO file and see if the same issue happens or not?

The redistributable installer is messed up, it mixes up 64bit and 32bit dll's. You can check if you have this problem by looking at the vcruntime140.dll file size. Search your windows folder for "vcruntime140" you should see 4 files (64 and 32 bit in both release & debug versions). If any files have the same size, you need to run a repair on the redistributable.
